Seongsu, for people who came here to shop for skincare
Line 2, twenty-five minutes from Gangnam, and the largest Olive Young in the country.
Seongsu-dong is the one neighbourhood on a beauty itinerary that is not organised around beauty. It is a converted warehouse district that became Seoul’s pop-up capital — more than 200 running at once, rotating every two to eight weeks — and the beauty flagships arrived because the foot traffic did.
- Olive Young Seongsu — the largest branch in the country, and the one where the stock actually reflects what launched this month.
- Amore Seongsu — Amorepacific’s experience store; appointment-based, and closer to a consultation than a shop.
- Tamburins, Aesop, Le Labo, Diptyque — fragrance and body, clustered within a few blocks.
- LCDC Seoul — 25+ independent Korean designers in one building, useful if you want something that is not sold at the airport.
Getting there: Seongsu Station on Line 2, exits 3 and 4. About 25 minutes from Gangnam, 35 from Hongdae, both without a transfer.
Timing: cafés open around 10–11am and most small shops close on Mondays. The big fashion and K-pop pop-ups are free but use timed reservations, so the ones worth queueing for are usually the ones you booked two days earlier.
